Summary of Shrek the Halls

Shrek the Halls is a television special that premiered on the American television network ABC on Wednesday, November 28, 2007. The thirty minute show included Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas reprising their roles from the feature films. It aired in Australia on the Nine Network on Saturday, December 1 at 6:30pm and is to be repeated on Christmas Eve. It also aired on CTV in Canada, on December 3rd, 2007. It is due to be shown in the UK on BBC One on Christmas Eve 2007 at 6.35pm. Shrek The Halls aired again on ABC on December 11, 2007. It has also been aired in Mexico on the channel 5 of the televisa network (December 16, 2007). December 20th, 2007, was aired on Emirates’ MBC3 Channel, in New Zealand on Channel 2 on December 23, 2007, and will also be repeated on Christmas Day, and in Poland on TVN on December 25. It was programming in french version in Belgium on RTL TVI and in France on TF1 on December 23.

Shrek is quietly living in the swamp with his family when the Christmas season arrives. Under Donkey’s urging, Shrek reluctantly promises Fiona a special Christmas surprise. Shrek goes to the local bookstore to try to find a present for Fiona, but since he doesn’t know what Christmas is all about, the shopkeeper gives Shrek a copy of Christmas for Village Idiots, a step-by-step guide to celebrating the holiday.

Shrek proceeds to follow the book’s advice by decorating the house and getting a tree so he can spend a quiet Christmas Eve with his family, but Donkey brings the entire gang to the swamp, ruining Shrek’s plans.

Shrek, the Gingerbread Man, Donkey, and Puss in Boots each tell their own version of a Christmas story: Donkey tells of floats coming to the swamp. At the end, Donkey ends up licking a 50ft tall Santa made out of waffles, but in reality he accidentally started licking Shrek’s leg. Puss tells his version of the story of Saint Nicholas, but ends up playing with the ball point of his Santa hat. Gingy’s story was not happy, though, but horrifying, as he tells about how his wife Suzy got eaten up by Santa Claus. Shrek ends up kicking everyone out of the house, but he soon apologizes and tells his own version of the story, featuring Ogre Claus.

Day Watch (Russian: ???????? ??????, Dnevnoi Dozor), a Russian fantasy action blockbuster marketed as “the first film of the year”, opened in theatres across Russia on January 1, 2006 and opened in the U.S. on June 1, 2007. It is a sequel to the 2004 film Night Watch, featuring the same cast. It is based on the second and the third part of Sergey Lukyanenko’s novel The Night Watch rather than its follow-up novel Day Watch. The film’s budget was USD$4.2 million and was expected to gross $40 million in Russia alone. It is the second part in the Night Watch trilogy, although the third film (Dusk or Twilight Watch) has not yet been produced.

Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium is a 2007 film written and directed by Zach Helm. The film stars Dustin Hoffman, Natalie Portman, Jason Bateman and Zach Mills. The screenplay is the first that Zach Helm wrote when hired as a contract writer at 20th Century Fox, but it remained unfilmed until Helm was able to buy the script back after Stranger than Fiction was made.
